2020 Virtual Arthur Miller Foundation Honors

The third annual Arthur Miller Foundation Honors was streamed on Monday, November 16, 2020. The virtual evening was hosted by Hamilton Original Broadway cast member and AMF Master Artist Council member, Sasha Hutchings, who co-produced alongside Arthur Miller Foundation Executive Director, Jaime Hastings. Kate Capshaw & Steven Spielberg signed on as event Co-Chairs alongside Rebecca Miller, Sandi Farkas, Janine & Michael Smith. Presented by Broadway.com and directed by Paul Wontorek, this year’s annual gala celebration celebrated the power of public school theater education while raising funds for the Foundation’s theater education programs in partnership with the NYC Department of Education and The City College of New York’s Graduate Program in Educational Theatre.

The event honored playwright Dominique Morisseau (AMF Legacy Award) and NYC DOE theater teacher Lisanne Shaffer (AMF Excellence in Arts Education Award). It featured musical performances and anecdotes from Mandy Gonzalez, Celia Rose Gooding, LaChanze, Javier Muñoz, Leslie Odom, Jr., Steven Pasquale, Nicolette Robinson, Phillipa Soo, Ain’t Too Proud’s “Temptations”, and students from NYC DOE Public School, Brooklyn High School of the Arts, alongside special guest appearances from Derrick Baskin, Cynthia Erivo, Julianne Moore, Chiké Okonkwo, Jeremy Pope, Ephraim Sykes, Adrienne Warren, and Vanessa Williams.
